Tulip Explosion

I'm loving our tulips right now. And I'd better enjoy them now because we're supposed to have record breaking temperatures the next couple of days and I don't expect the tulips to last much longer.
I love tulips. They're such a harbinger of spring. They provide a much needed color boost after a long winter of dreariness.
In our garden we enjoy seeing them in groups. I also like to get up close and photograph them individually.
They add a nice accent in the garden.
Last year I added 'Antoinette' tulips to the front garden. They're supposed to look like this:
Here is the description from Van Bourgondien,
"The Chameleon Tulip" changes from yellow to pink, and finishes a lovely salmon-orange. 4 per stem. Tall, bunch flowering tulips produce up to 4-5 flowers per stem. Brilliantly colored, large flowers are cup-shaped and create a sensational garden display or an elegantly simple bouquet.
So far they're looking like this:
You can see that perhaps the color change will occur.
They have the "bunch flowering" part down.
If you have tulips in your garden well, enjoy them, and I'd love to see your pictures. If not, you might consider adding some.

i love those alice in wonderland figures. the tulips are completely amazing right now! i drove by st. luke's this evening--that place has the most spectacular tulip display and they're just at their peak.

Je n'aime pas trop les tulipes sauf quand elles sont sur pied, dans les vases en fleurs coupées, je n'aime pas, ça ne tient pas longtemps et les pétales tombes toujours sur la table, enfin, souvenir de mon enfance !

Oh how beautiful! I love all that color in the bright sunshine. The white tulips really catch my eye. Isn't that silly with all those colors? LOL! Your Alice in Wonderland statues are the sweetest things.

So far, I have a few red tulips out front and some deep magenta-purple ones in the back. The last couple of days has been really cold and we have even had snow flurries. Yuk! Your tulips are gorgeous. The "Chameleon Tulip" is interesting. I haven't seen a tulip with more than one flower per stem before.

What a selection of tulips you have. I agree nothing nicer in the spring than cheery tulips.

Gorgeous! I read so much about squirrels and deer, that I plant them only in containers. I saw bulbs dug out when I tried to put several of them in the soil. Maybe, I need to try again and put a net above.

Those funny tulips. I wonder what they look like now, after a week of record temps. Sometimes I think plant breeders put plants on the market before they're proven to be reliable. At any rate, you've got a lovely display.

I'm a big tulip fan too Victoria ~ love all of yours. The new addition is awesome. Never seen it before. The warm temperatures are hurrying mine along WAY faster than I would like too. :-(
boo hoo. We gardeners are hard to please, aren't we? Too cold, too hot, etc.!!!
Your new little chicks are growing fast! I bet it's fun to introduce them to your gorgeous garden ~ they are sure lucky to get to live there.

Outstanding! I love the pink ones planted near the large tree. The new ones you added look very interesting and I was sold at four blooms per stem! I will have to check out Van Bourgondien this fall.

Tulips are my favorite spring bulb!
