Fall, fall, fall....

I do love fall, really; the colors, the chill in the air, the promise of warm mugs of cocoa and pumpkins, Halloween, frosts, then the holidays...Thanksgiving and Christmas, etc.
I just miss summer!

Morning Glories

I love morning glories. Can hardly imagine summer without them. This wasn't always so. I started growing them about four years ago and since then I have looked forward to them every summer. Ours are all volunteers this year. That's the thing about Morning Glories, I've pulled more plants than I've allowed to grow this year. In fact, some people call them weeds. But I love them.

Garden in August

Yesterday while I was out in the garden, I was lamenting over the lack of flowering this time of year. But, when I really paused to look, I did find quite a bit going on. This slide show includes two re-seeding annuals; larkspur (which I did not know would re-bloom) and calendulas, which I think are indispensable. The remaining 18 flowers are perennials, and all in bloom now. (I have stopped complaining.)
You can drag across each slide to identify the flower.
