Sounds like it's going to be one heck of a nice event with 15 (that's FIFTEEN, compared to the ONE we get at our show in Boise) full-sized living landscapes. Good grief, I'd love to be there. Anyone giving away free plane tickets?

A Giveaway

I've been on the receiving end of such nice giveaways lately that I thought it was time to add to someone else's joy.

So........I'm offering you a choice of two books.

The first one is Organic Gardening, an essential guide to natural gardening. By Christine and Michael Lavelle.

I like this book. For vegetables it offers information on soil and aspect, propagation, harvesting and storage and culinary uses. Nice. There's a lot of info in this mid sized book.






Next is something I consider essential. A blank book.





Just waiting for your deepest thoughts and pearls of wisdom.

Well, whatever. I've kept a garden journal since June 11, 2000. Wish I'd started sooner. If you keep a garden journal you know how valuable and entertaining they can be. (Especially in the winter months). If you've never had one, well, it's time to start.

Mrs. B's Giveaway

Mrs. B. at Confessions of a Pagan Soccer Mom is hosting a Tarot card giveaway. The deck is The Housewive's Tarot. Great looking deck. Check out her blog for entry info. More Winnings

Thanks to Terra at Terra Garden I won the book The Night Watchman by Mark Mynheir. Great book. I love a good mystery. And this was a good one.

My one, well...... not complaint, but question, I guess, is, is the author a christian? And is he employing this belief in his novel?

OK, never mind. From his website: "Over thirteen years ago, during a health crisis involving his oldest son, Mark gave his life to Jesus Christ. Shortly after his conversion, he felt God leading him in a new direction: writing. Now he balances dual careers as a police officer and novelist."

I definitely enjoyed reading the book. The story line was great, the characters engaging. And I was looking forward to some follow up novels.

I'll probably still read them when they're published. (As I'm assuming Mynheir will continue this series.)

As an agnostic the christian aspect is a little off putting. But for these characters I am interested enough to look forward to the next one.

My Lucky Day, week.......month?

It's been a very pleasing and surprising week.

I received this hand knitted bag in the mail from Cynthia at Brambleberries in the Rain.
