Almond Crescents

Today I made some Ukrainian Almond Crescents.

The recipe is here.
I was trying to make these, one of our favorite pastries at the Saturday market....

The Ukrainian recipe isn't as chewy as the bakery ones, but, still, very, very tasty.
I did adjust the recipe by brushing the crescents with an egg wash, then covering with sliced almonds, before baking them. After they cooled I drizzled them with melted chocolate chips. I have do doubt they won't last long around here!

Those would go great with a fresh brewed cup of coffee!

I am Ukranian...both of my grandparents came from the Ukraine. I have never seen these before. Many of the cookies and pastries that my grandmom used to make were closer to what you would see in a "Polish" bakery. They look really good. I'll have to try the recipe.
