Garden Wish List

I'm sure we all have a wish list; either written down or in our heads. (Speaking of writing, how many of you keep a garden journal?)

So, my garden wish list for 2008-09....

Stainless daffodils
Swan Wings tulips
tulipa humilis 'Odalisque' (adding to ones I already have)
Galanthus elwesii (again, adding)
Hyacinthoides - hispanica 'Excelsior'
Hyacinths, 'Festival Blue'
Crown Princess Margareta rose
Caryopteris 'Summer Sorbet'

Abraham Darby rose

Lily of the Valley

I have all of these placed in the garden, in my head, except for the Abraham Darby rose. Planning and tweaking is one of my favorite gardening pastimes. Of course only three of these plants are "summer" plants. That's because it's still spring and right now I see the holes in the garden, the possibilities for next year. But only for spring. I can assume the list will lengthen along with the growing season.

What's on your wish list? - gardening or otherwise.

I have lots of bulbs on my wish list for next year, too! I have been looking and evaluating the spots where they could go.
Abraham Darby is beautiful! I have 2 English roses...Heritage (light pink)and Graham Thomas (yellow) and I love them both.
I do keep a garden journal and find it handy to make notes to myself of things to do for next year, and to look back and see when things were planted, frost dates, etc.

Oh yeah, there is always a wish list. At least in my head. I have to see something though to know if I really want it or not. Most times I can't really say what it is I want.

I've been wanting a witch hazel for a long time and finally got one (albeit a "mini me" sort of twig looking witch hazel) yesterday! It's a Hamamelis vernalis tomentosa, which I can find no photos of, so it's good I like surprised! I get most plants from seeds or divisions, or whatever "shows up," as I can't generally afford specific wishes. I do however want to try sea holly again, which has died twice on me!
