We're finally harvesting a decent amount of tomatoes. And some eggplant. (That's for me, Kim's not a lover of eggplant.)
But does anyone recognize this mystery plant? I thought I had bought a couple of cantaloupes. Now I'm not so sure.
It's about 8 inches long.
Some sort of squash?

Congrats on the tomato harvest! Mine are starting to come in as well. I am stumped on the squash/gourd/melon thing. good luck
I think it might be some kind of melon, but a name isn't coming to me. I ate a lot of melon last summer, and I swear I had one that looked like that.
You definitely have some nice produce there!
mmm eggplant! your veggies look delicious! I don't know what kind it is but you have a nice melon there! Enjoy your surprise!
Nice harvest !
Hubby says melon. I have no clue.
Looks like what is sold at the Asian stall at the Farmer's market out here... some kind of melon. Yum!!

Eggplant, I'm so jealous. The tomatoes are looking great, nothing like the home grown ones.
It looks sort of like a Christmas Melon to me...I've never tried one myself, but have seen them at the Farmer's Market! The striped tomatoes are beautiful!

No idea about the mystery melon! Let us know what it is/how it tastes!
I'd say its a melon! You'll know when you cut it open. Eggplants... I'd grow them just for the beautiful color, but there is no space for them in my garden. Tomatoes look very good!
Eggplant is very tasty when you cook it with some basil. Your green melon looks like winter melon.
I have a new butter squash in my garden this week.
I'm so jealous looking at everyone's great tomato harvest! My tomato bush did not produce one fruit! I got lots of flowers, but no fruit. I finally gave up on it this week. Yours look so yummy to taste! I love garden tomatoes. And your mystery goard looks interesting! Can't wait to see what it actually turns out to be!
I don't know what it is either but it looks interesting. Congrats on the good harvest. I have yet to pick anything from my little raised bed. :-(
ooh, are you growing fairy eggplants? those look just like mine! i only bought them because of the name but the plants are really prolific and tasty!
your tomatoes on the other hand are depressing me. i need to print this out and tack it up on the fence to inspire my plants to actually make a mater or two.
