Long time no see

I've recently considered abandoning this blog.  Sometimes it seems as if I have nothing new to say.  Life goes on.  The seasons change.  Blah blah blah.

I think part of my problem is I feel like we're in a holding pattern until we retire.  I'm really looking forward to the changes we have planned when that happens.  In the meantime I need to get on with life.

We seem to have become some sort of abandoned animal refuge.
Remember this from last year?

I'm so happy we managed to adopt out six of the seven kittens to good homes.  (We kept number seven, Frankie, the one with the blue collar.)  It's odd to look back on that time and remember how crazy we felt caring for 12 cats/kittens.  Yes,  TWELVE;  both mothers, their brother, their seven kittens and our two cats.

Perhaps remembering that experience will help us survive this guy.

Yes, Scarface is back.  Probably for good.  He has come to live with us for various reasons.  Our hope is to have him adjust to our three cats.
He has aged, and mellowed, quite a bit.
A much younger Scarface sans the white hair:

I'm optimistic about our chances of having him adjust to our cats because he previously fell in love with a kitten we had back in the day.

On to another topic;  I donated a small amount to one of those Kickstarter ideas and now I get to follow her adventures on her blog.  Looks like it's going to be quite entertaining.  Check it out at Saratops.

I guess it's worth remembering that the glimpse of your own day to day life, which may seem so trivial to yourself, is a look into something totally unique and unimaginable to someone else. But I totally understand the lure of just throwing in the towel, believe me. . . .

Hi Victoria, I hope you don't give up blogging. I always enjoy reading about adventures in your world and I would miss you if you stopped. I love that you're a cat person and Scarface looks like a sweetie. Can you believe it's November already? I'm so sad that our sunny days have come to an end. I can never get enough summer. :) Take care my friend.

Oh no! please don't go, I have days where I feel I'm already in that holding pattern. You garden and talents have impressed the hell out of me. Gosh, more blogging about your beautiful home to help us newbies would be an amazing teaching tool. I've never met anyone that I hoped to learn from like you with your gardening skills (and I follow a ton of gardening and home blogs). You made us realize that we could make any chunk of land and home an amazing dwelling. Your home was like an oasis that I'd never seen before. Also, your love of animals helped inspire Kyle and I to adopt two pretty much unadoptable dogs. We and they are so happy.

Hi Victoria. Boo hoo. I miss you. Are you swallowed up in snow and pets and Thanksgiving preparations? I hope you won't stay away too long.

I'm thinking of you and hope you have a warm and wonderful Thanksgiving. Hugs.
