Careful now.........

Dare I say it?

I think Spring has a foot in the door. (!)

Just look at these crocus.

They've really spread in two years. Here they are in 2009:

The daffodils are beginning to wake up.

We haven't seen these crocus in the grass for a couple years.

I have a feeling the "girls" (see chickens in sidebar) must have been eating them.

We've penned up the girls again this year, but more permanently. They have the sideyard to themselves which includes three compost piles, a flock block, plenty of free greens from my workplace and mealworms once a week. So far they seem to be accepting it. We're hoping many missing flowers will return this year without the chickens scratching and pecking at them.

And another reason to feel optimistic; I've started taking French lessons from a person at work who is fluent in four languages. Wish me luck.

amusant, je me suis inscrit, sur Internet, à un site me donnant plus de vocabulaire en anglais !! si j'avais le temps j'irais probablement suivre des cours, mais voilà... le temps me manque terriblement ! bisous

Haven't spoken French since 1990 but now I'm tempted to give it a try again. Les crocuses look beautiful and have put a "spring" in my step today. Merci!

I don't know a single French word. Those crocus are gorgeous. They really did spread a lot too. Hope you're having a good day.

Looks like spring all over again. Those pickwicks must really like that spot. Gotta love crocus.

The crocuses look great in bunches.
Wish there was a way to make them last longer.

I see you have a new blog look...think your header is the best so far.

So how's the French so far ?

WoW you two those crocuses look like a beautiful painting. Gorgeous!!!
Hey Victoria I did what you said and googled pinching Dahlias and didn't really find anything but still might try it. But did find that there are possibly 2 Blackberry Ripples - a dinnerplate and a regular cactus I think it was. Hmmmmm am I more confused than ever now? LOL

I am hopeful that spring is springing. The snow was gone, then I returned from a "spring" break trip, and it's BAAAAACKKKKK. Curseword

Good for you that you are taking French classes!

Hi Victoria! Best of luck mastering French. I took it all thru high school and even the first year of college. I think I could get myself around but I would not be mistaken for a native!!!

Your crocus are gorgeous. I wish mine would spread like yours have done. I think the mice have been eating mine?? There were tunnels all thru my beds this spring (when I removed the mulch) and it seems like the bulbs are thinner. I think Spring definitely has a foot in the door!
