Something you don't want to do while walking these dogs.....but I did.
We were going happily along down the sidewalk this morning when up ahead I see a man walking his two little dachshunds. At the same time I accidentally step on a large rock lying on the sidewalk and manage to twist my ankle. By painfully crab walking I get the dogs to the other side of the street where I try to take a breather as Bruno and Scarface attempt to introduce their idea of friendliness to the two little wiener dogs. It wasn't fun. Then a bicyclist came around the corner, barely avoiding Scarface, who I've decided has way too long a leash.
I gave my ankle a little recuperation time and feeling sorry for Scarface and Bruno, as our walk had barely begun, we set off again. We didn't make it too far. One more detour to avoid another dog walker and it's homeward bound.
My ankle is swollen and sore. I'm walking with a major limp. There will be no more dog walks during my tour of babysitting I'm afraid.
I do have this afternoon to look forward to as I will drive across town to visit our baby chicks. Can't wait to see them.
Later this evening my daughter Vanessa is showing some of her artwork at First Thursday. I'll be there to offer support. She'll be doing some actual painting while she's there. It's a monthly event in downtown Boise which "focuses on providing downtown visitors the chance to stroll through the unique shops and galleries in downtown, while enjoying in-store entertainment and special events. "
I'll post again later.

Oh dear - sometimes accidents are so stupid. I've just got back from the hospital where my sone ahs been for several days because he dislocated all the bones from his elbow. He fell of the sofa...
Sorry - can't type straight. That's "son has" and "off"
Damn weiner dogs!
Man...that sucks! Can't wait to see Vanessa's artwork!
Good luck to Vanessa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, man, sorry about your ankle though. That's happened to me a couple of times and ACK it hurts!
so sorry about your ankle, I hope it mends quickly!
Hope your hopping around soon Victoria. Sounds like a very interesting walk. I miss our little teenie weenies - they were such a hoot!
Isn't it strange how things like that happen?? You don't hurt yourself running a marathon but what seems to be a simple walk, can really mess you up. ugh. I hope it heals soon.
Bummer about the ankle. I put loads of arnica gel on mine when I twisted it one time. I'm not positive it helped, but it seemed to take me from gimpy to walking fairly quickly, so it might be worth a shot.
