I finally completed my first knitted sweater. (With help from my Thursday night knitting group and my friend Carol.)
It was a long process.
Possibly the most difficult part was choosing which yarn to use. There are so many great choices.
For some reason I was drawn to a couple of pinks. I'm not normally a "pink" person. Except for garden flowers. But pink is what I chose.
I like the way the two colors work together. I almost went with just the variegated yarn, but fortunately the shop didn't have quite enough of it so I had to add the plain pink. I'm glad I did, I think it looks better this way.
This sweater is knit in the round so there isn't a "front" and "back" piece. To make it appear that way though, the pattern includes a "twist" on each side.
Here is one completed sleeve.
And the final project. (Pay no attention to my goofy smile. I'm really very proud and happy with my sweater.)
The best complement I've received has been from my daughter Vanessa who said, "Wow, Mom, I would actually wear that myself!"

You are talented! That is beautiful.
Wow, your first sweater turned out that good? You have talent!
Oh! Such a slimming design too, awesome! Congratulations!
Bisous,
François,

Congrats! It's beautiful. Someday I want to learn how to knit.
What a great looking sweater, hard to believe it's your first one! I'd love to get something like that.
How long did it take to make? I also love rhe color combinations you used. I want to learn how to knot. I may have mentioned that a time or two before....
That is GORGEOUS! Can you believe you MADE that?? Wow...I am impressed. I've never knit a thing in my life!
This looks great! Congratulations. I guess knitting a sweater is a whole different level than just a scarf. I like the colors as well.
Wow, so very lovely, love the raspberry colors!
