Sweet Summer Days

A couple of baby goldfinches were flying around our garden this week. Cutest things. The parent was trying to keep on eye on them. We did our part and kept Scarface away.

I tried my hand at pie making this week. The raspberry/blackberry/peach concoction I came up with turned out well, thanks to a recipe I used from Sunset magazine.

In the Moongarden I have one Casablanca Lily blooming. One. I have planted at least a dozen bulbs. Where are the rest you ask? Uhhhhhhhhhhh..............lily heaven???

And finally, during the dog days of July - (are there dog days of July or does that only happen in August?) - anyway, it was soooooooooo hot, so Kim, Vanessa and I made rootbeer floats. Of course, we made ADULT rootbeer floats by adding a shot of Vanilla Vodka to each. MMMMMMMMMMMMM.........................

That's how I most times feel when planting bulbs. I do know my squirrel-thieves though ;)

YUM...rootbeer floats are the best. My grandmother used to make them for me when I was little. The berry/peach pie looks delish too. Your lilies must have come up in my garden in Maryland!!!!

Pie, floats and lilies !
Your pie looks so good. With the heat here the float would hit the spot. Like the "adult" version.
Casablanca lilies are beautiful, like you I only have one and this year it set buds but dried up with the heat.
